I'm Emma. I have an insatiable craving for great art and good words. And in the midst of trying to decide between the two, I landed somewhere in between.
Minneapolis is where I live and try to figure out life. I have been writing for magazines, newspapers and agencies for about four years, but still stumble through like the rest of us. We'll see what happens next.
This blog is a place where you will find unique and unapologetic advice, thoughts, and essays. It is a place where I will try to be honest, present my real self, and offer solace in authenticity.
A 'hole in the wall' is nothing special: it is not the chain restaurant on every other corner, it is not the upscale brunch place or the black-tie steakhouse. It's not where you meet to discuss business proposals, wear a suit, or even go on a date in a fancy dress and heels. It's small - forgettable.
But then, a "hole in the wall" is everything special: there is no other place like it. You can be real there, end up crying over coffee with a long-time friend, work on your freelance projects, be recognized by the barista and order that one coffee drink that is really nothing special, but because of the unapologetic honesty of that coffee and those baristas and that place, it is everything special.
That's what this space is. I mean, this is an online space. But a space nonetheless. Nothing special.
